Short answers to the questions people ask most about CachePilot, then the questions about the beta.
About the plugin
From the readme of CachePilot 1.4.2 and the code.
Does CachePilot require Redis?
Yes. CachePilot needs a Redis server and the phpredis PHP extension.
Can several sites share one Redis server?
Yes. CachePilot puts a prefix in front of every key. When it finds keys of other applications in the same database, it limits flushes to its own prefix.
Why does CachePilot not combine CSS and JS files?
With HTTP/2 and HTTP/3 the browser loads many files in parallel over one connection. Combined files only grow the bytes a page does not need, and one changed file invalidates the whole bundle in every browser cache.
Can I use it with other cache plugins?
The object cache works next to page cache plugins. If another page cache plugin is active, CachePilot leaves its own page cache off.
Is it Multisite compatible?
Yes, for networks with subdirectories and subdomains. Settings and the Redis connection apply to the whole network; only super admins can change them.
Does it support Redis over TLS or Redis Cluster?
TLS is supported under CachePilot, Settings, Connection. Redis Cluster is not supported.
Does CachePilot send data to other services?
No. It loads nothing on the front end except the minified copies of your own files. The update check goes to update.cms-admins.de, a server of CMS ADMINS.
