The CachePilot beta is open. Businesses can register on getcachepilot.com, and once CMS ADMINS has approved the account they download the WordPress plugin and send feedback from the same account. Taking part is free for the whole beta. Prices will follow after the beta.

Who can take part?

The beta is open to businesses only: companies, agencies, hosting providers, developers and site owners who register in the course of their trade or profession (section 14 of the German Civil Code). The registration form asks you to confirm this. There is no offer for consumers.

You need a WordPress site with PHP 8.3 or later, WordPress 6.4 or later and the PHP extension phpredis, and a Redis server of version 6.0 or later. If you are not sure whether your host provides Redis, say so in the form. The getting started guide lists the requirements in detail.

How does the beta work?

  1. Register. On the beta page you enter your e-mail address, a password of at least 12 characters, your name, the address of your website, your role, the number of sites you look after and whether Redis is available. Company and the use of WooCommerce, WPML or Multisite are optional.
  2. Confirm by e-mail. You receive a link that is valid for 7 days. Clicking it confirms your account and your subscription to the CachePilot newsletter. The newsletter is a condition of the beta: it is how we announce new versions, changes to the beta and its end.
  3. Approval. CMS ADMINS reviews each request and approves the account. You get an e-mail as soon as you are in.
  4. Log in and download. In your account you download the current version of the plugin as a ZIP file and install it like any other plugin.
  5. Send feedback. The feedback form in the account takes bugs, ideas and performance reports, optionally with the output of wp cachepilot status. You see your earlier entries and their status.

How do updates arrive?

Updates come through update.cms-admins.de, the update server of CMS ADMINS, and appear in WordPress like any other plugin update. For the update check, the plugin sends the address of the site and its CachePilot version to that server; the server also sees the IP address of the request. No third party is involved. The privacy policy describes it.

What does the beta cost, and what does it not include?

The beta is free. It comes without a guarantee of function or availability and without support commitments. The beta terms set out the rules, including how the beta ends: we announce it by e-mail in advance. Unsubscribing from the newsletter ends your participation in the beta.

The beta covers the WordPress plugin. CachePilot Server for ISPConfig, which gives each hosting customer a Redis instance of their own, is not part of the download. Hosting providers ask for it through the CachePilot Server page.

What happens to my data?

getcachepilot.com runs on servers of CMS ADMINS in Germany, uses no analytics and loads nothing from other hosts. The newsletter has no open or click tracking. Unconfirmed registrations are deleted after 7 days, and you can delete your account yourself at any time in the account settings.
